The Learning Lab has been active on the Brainport Human Campus for a few years now, but since October 2024 the Learning Lab is officially an independent foundation. Chairman Michaël Munnich talks enthusiastically about their mission: "We want to let young people experience what it is like to work together in the real work field. Here they get to work for themselves, independently and confidently. That really makes a difference." But why on the Brainport Human Campus?"

The choice was logical: Driessen Groep, of which the campus is part, is one of the founding partners of Stichting Learning Lab. Michaël: "This campus is all about people, work and society. That is exactly what we as Learning Lab stand for. The atmosphere is open and the lines of communication are short. Here, students work in the middle of the business world. This is how the Learning Lab contributes to narrowing the gap between the labor market and education, as well as to the development of students' human skills."
A place where everything comes together
The campus not only offers modern facilities, but especially many opportunities for collaboration. "We work together with various companies housed on campus, as well as with other organizations such as Rabobank, Senzer, Prodas, AAE and Zorgcampus de Peel. Students here really learn to cooperate, organize and take responsibility.
Impact on students and the region
"What touches me personally is the effect on the young people. Some students had lost their motivation, but with us they regain their desire to learn. They feel taken seriously and grow in independence. So our ambition is that 'Learning Lab' on your resume matters."
Michael has a clear dream: "In three years, we want to actively involve about 150-200 students annually. After that, we hope to inspire other regions to set up their own Learning Lab. Not so much as a part of us, but we are happy to help them on their way in setting up their own Learning Lab."
That I myself was given the opportunity to learn is not something everyone takes for granted. I grant it to everyone. Students must want and be motivated themselves, but we as a society must help them. That is our moral duty.
- Michaël Munnich
Cooperate and seize opportunities
The campus is a place where you find each other easily. "We have already done great assignments with Groep5700, IJK, Sprank and Driessen . But the best part is: you never know who you will meet tomorrow. We have a clear policy plan, but new collaborations often arise spontaneously. And the opportunities that come your way, you have to seize."
Unique to Stichting Learning Lab
"With us, students are given confidence and autonomy. No internship at the hand of a supervisor, but in a mixed team tackling an issue from start to finish: from planning and organizing to executing and presenting. That independence creates growth and ownership. That makes the youngsters stronger and more motivated."
